Hi. I had a break week (reading week) in February so I visit to Toronto with my friends. It was our last trip in Canada. Unfortunately, I had a cold during trip and the weather was windy and too cold. We went a restaurant which was in top of CN tower. A view from the restaurant was breathtaking and unforgettable. The most impressive in my stay was that there were lots of nice people in Toronto. Generally, Canadians were very kindhearted as everyone say, but I was surprised that many people didn’t ignore and asked if we need any help, even big city like Toronto. We had a good time there.

After the break, I got a mid-term mark from my teacher. Although I didn’t think I was capable of doing well in this level, I got a good mark than I expected, and my teacher said to me how I did well. After the break week, we are getting in more academic stuffs. Every week, I do read academic journal articles which I choose as my research topic and do write both annotated bibliography and critical summary every week. Those articles have about 25 pages, and we should summarize and criticize it in only 300 words each assignment; it is hardest part of this assignment.

Last month, some of my friends went back to their countries. But now my turn is coming; it is only one month away! I looked back on my goal about study abroad again. I remember I wanted to speak with many people so that my speaking can improve; therefore, this month, my last month, I’m trying to speak with lots of people as much as I can.

　２月の終わり頃にブレークウィークがあり、トロントに行ってきました。あいにく風邪をひいてしまい、天気もあまり良くなかったのですが、楽しいブレークウィークになりました。一番印象に残っていることは、トロントの方たちの優しさです。カナダ人は優しいとよく耳にするとは思いますが、トロントのような忙しい都会でも、尋ねるとどの人も立ち止まり、優しく教えてくれました。実際困っている時、向こうからわざわざ「どうしたの？」と尋ねて、教えてくれることが多かったです。

　ブレークウィークが終わり、担任の先生から成績表を受け取りました。想像以上に良い成績でびっくりしました。今のレベルは私にとって難しく、正直良い点を取れるとは思っていませんでした。先生から本当によくできているよと言われ、嬉しかったですし、少しホッとしました。最近は毎週、自分のトッピックに合ったアカデミックジャーナル記事を読んでいます。ページ数が多いにもかかわらず、それをたった300字ほどに要約するのがとても難しいです。何度も読み込んでは要点を押さえなければいけません。

　先月、友達が自分の国へと帰って行きました。私の番がどんどん近づいています。最近なぜ留学したのか、留学の目標は何なのか、もう一度改めて振り返ってみました。一番に思い浮かんだのは、スピーキングをもっと伸ばしたいということでした。日本でも、聞いて、読んで、書くことは自分でもできます。しかし、話すとなるとなかなか難しいのが現実です。英語ばかりの環境に置かれている今だからこそ、いつでもどこでも色々な方と英語で色々な話をすることができます。この機会を無駄にはできないなと思いました。残り１ヶ月となりましたが、最後まで悔いの残らないように過ごしていき
