海外留学レポートReport from Overseas

Bitter Sweet

Feb . 2020

Hello, everyone. Sadly, this report will be my last report.I wanna stay here more, but I’m looking forward to going back Japan.

As most of you who looking this report know, if you want to go studying abroad, you must submit a document that explain write your motives and goals of studying abroad. Of course, I also did that, so I’m gonna talk about my achieve.

Before I came here, I had two goals for studying abroad. It is about becoming independent and acquiring English skills. When I made these my goals, I considered “independence” refers to a person who can do everything by himself and I want to be a such as person. But in my American life, my opinion was changed. Sometimes, we should ask, get advice, get help. We don’t have to do everything alone. Certainly, there are many times when we must think and conclude on ourselves. But I often got advice and help for teacher, friends, host family and volunteer supervisor, after thinking myself. Probably the conclusion was better that mine. We should have good relationship with many people to get advice or help, so communication skill is very important in our life. It is important to have the ability to solve problems yourself, but I learned in my life studying abroad that getting communication skills to have people I can rely on, and it’s also important to rely on someone.

The other goal is improving English skills. Probably, my skills improved. I think so. I hope so. Last week, I took a TOEIC test here. I don’t know the score, but it will be better than before came here. Especially, my listening skill was improved, but I can’t understand all people’s English. Just like Japanese, English speaking in your hometown or family will be changed, so I want to be able to understand more many people’s English. I will continue my study and improve my skills after going back Japan.

Finally, thank you my host family, teacher, my coworkers! These experiences will be so useful in my future! See you soon!
