At last, my study abroad program was starting!! I couldn’t believe I come study abroad even though I boarded an airplane and arrived in the Portland Airport. But when I arrived host family’s house, finally I felt that “I come study abroad in America!!”. Because family spoke English very very fast. I couldn’t listen and understand. But my family was so kind. They told me about house rules, how to use laundry very slowly, so I could listen and understand. I always spent time with my host family until start school. They took me to some facilities nearby our house, downtown Portland and Gresham. I had to walk to school at least 30 minutes, but now, I don’t feel it tired. Because everything around me is fresh!! “Wow! American house is very big!” “There are a lot of squirrels!” “American people say hello if they pass each other even if they don’t know!” I enjoy walking while that thinking.

The school orientation was on September 18 and 19. September 19th is my birthday!! After the orientation, everyone of PIA school’s student and teacher sung me birthday song! It made me very happy because I thought everyone didn’t know my birthday. My host family also celebrated my birthday. After dinner, my family prepared birthday cake and some presents for me. It is schedule book, $20 gift card, and face pack. I’ll write a diary in English in the schedule book I got. This first picture is the gifts and cake.

I have spent almost a month since I started study abroad, but I haven’t developed anything yet. My English isn’t good still, speaking to also requires courage is also make friends. My goal of twice month is to talk to a lot of foreigners and conversation!
