海外留学レポートReport from Overseas

My recent fruitful days

Feb . 2019

Aloha! This is already my sixth report! Thank you for reading. I don’t believe the winter season has come to Hawaii, outside is like 17 degree in the evening. Now, I’m on a half way of spring 1.Turn back January, this month was so fulfilled. The recent news is 25 Korean students came the beginning of January. So the class has become international. (4 Korean,1 Taiwanee,2 Japanese) But unfortunately, Korean students who chose 4 week left to their country. I didn’t mention about there is English ONLY policy in HELP. However, our communication tool was inevitably always English. I was really impressed their fluency of English and intelligence.  As class’s level is up, I think the materials we use entire classes are totally much more difficult. For example, in reading class, we read an article about other culture’s history, political problems…etc. I hold my dictionary whenever I take this class to overcome my weak point. In speaking, I’ve done 10 minutes presentation. My topic was related to dream job. Since I used to speak English in front of people than before, I enjoyed explaining my slides smoothly.

One of the reason why I’m studying English is English help us to broad my horizons. For Japanese people, English is second language. Of course, it takes much time to get used to speak foreign language. To be honest, on the way to here, I encountered many difficulties. In my home country, I can do anything I want thanks to my family, and friends. After I left, I realized how I depend on them. Sometimes I struggled loneliness, and lost my confidence. But anytime, I was not alone. Host family, friends, teachers, neighbors…anybody helped me, gave an encouragement.  I wouldn’t meet such a great persons, did precious experience if I didn’t study abroad. Bitter experiences are good way to see ourselves improvement. No pain, no gain.” This proverb obviously express my studying abroad.

I’m so sad to say the end of Hawaii life is approaching. Many close friends went back to their country. On February 1st, I had an opportunity to see Korean student’s graduation ceremony. Their face was brightened. I can’t imagine my graduation so far, but next month my turn is coming. I’m proud of myself being here for approximately seven month, I want to say   ”Mahalo” for all of teachers who supported me.
