こんにちは！オーストラリアは次第に夏がやってきています。現時点で既に気温が３４度まで上がっていますが、本格的に夏がきた時どのくらい暑くなるのか想像がつきません。なぜなら、もう既に気温が３４度の時でも、外に出ていると肌が少し痛く、赤くなります。その為、できるだけ朝早くから行動して、日中の日差しに当たらないようにしています。

今から、学校の事を話します。

１１月の下旬にfinal exam がありました。リスニングは以前より聞けるようにはなりましたが、まだ詰めが甘いと感じました。なぜなら、聞こえたものをすぐ答えだとしてしまってひっかけ問題にまんまと引っかかってしまい後から本当の答えがあるのにそこを聞き取れていなかったことがあり、悔しかったです。しかし、Mid term の時よりも点数が上がっていて嬉しかったです。

Final exam が終わった次の日には学校全体で学校遠足に行きました。場所はコッカトゥー島でした。この島はフェリーに乗りおよそ１５分すると到着します。日本でいう長崎の軍艦島のような廃墟巡りができる島です。自然であふれていました。

昨日、１０週の授業を受け終えた証明の授与式が行われました。無事に次の上のクラスに上がることができました。オーストラリアで英語を学べる環境にしてくれた両親には本当に感謝しています。もう早いことに、新しい学期が始まりました。今のクラスは、日本人の私、中国人８人、ジョルダンから1人、クエートから2人、ベトナムから1人、フィリピンから1人、カンボジアから1人です。私も日本人の英語のクセ・なまりがあるように、それぞれの国でやはり同じ英語でもすごく違いを感じます。そして、授業中にケンカまではなっていませんが、一人の学生と意見が食い違ったときがありました。その人はグループワークの中で私たちはただ互いの書いていることをコピーすればいいと強く主張してきたので私も意見しました。その後、私たちはお互いの意見を聞き理解することが出来ましたが、このことから話し合う事は本当に重要で、たとえ違う意見でも話し合い仲良くやっていかないといけないと改めて思いました。

これらのクラスメイトとの授業は緊張感と楽しさが半々で、とても楽しいです。時に、言いたいことが言えずにむしゃくしゃするときもありますが、日々の学習をきちんと頑張ります。

次に生活の事を話します。

ホームステイ先に、ベトナムの女の子がやってきました。彼女が来てくれて本当に嬉しいです。シティに出かけるとクリスマスのデコレーションをたくさん見かけます。オーストラリアで過ごすクリスマスが楽しみです。

Hello!!  The summer is coming soon in Australia. The temperature is already 34 degrees. I can feel the heat although it is not summer yet in Australia. My skin got burnt skin and turn red when I go out in 34 degrees. Therefore, I leave home as early as possible in the morning and avoid with sunlight in the daytime.

From now, I’m going talk about class. There were final exams in the end of November. My listening skill has been advanced but is still poor. However, my marks in the final exam improved so I was glad.

I went on a school excursion with the whole school on the next day when the final exam was over. The place was Cockatoo Island and I could arrive on a ferry in 15 minutes. The island used to be a prison similar to Gunkanjima of Nagasaki in japan. The island has great landscape and nature environment.

At the end of the ten weeks course, the certificate presentation was held. I was able to pass successfully. I appreciate that my parents encouraged me to come and learn English in Australia.

The new class has already started. My present class consists of eight Chinese, one Jordanian, two Kuwait’s, one Cambodian, one Philippine, one Vietnamese and only Japanese, me. After I passed one week, I think that the English accent is different in each country. Recently, I did not quarrel with a new student during class because he has a different opinion. And then, this person strongly insisted that we should copy but I insisted not to copy. We could listen and understand each other’s opinion. I think that discussion is very important in the group work because we must get along with each other even if we have different opinions.

Next, I’m going to talk about my life. A Vietnamese girl came to the homestay. I’m glad that she is living with us. When I go to city, I could see Christmas decoration so I looking forward to spend Christmas in Australia.
