In February, it was not so different from January. However I feel my listening and speaking skills are definitely improving. A couple weeks ago, we finished reading the novel which is called “1984” in our class. It was really tough for me to understand the story, because I am not good at reading so far. We had some quiz and group work about the novel. It helped me to understand, and also I was interested in my classmates opinions. Also I had a presentation in spoken class. Even though I can speak in English, I figured out it was really difficult for me to speak about information in a public place. I want to present better until I leave Canada. It is my new goal, so now I have been trying to use more correct grammar in conversation.

Now I have a lot of friends in Queen’s University. Recently I have been hanging out with them. They are from not only Canada but also a lot of different countries. We had a one week vacation at the end of February. At that time, fortunately, I had many chances to talk with them. I was surprised that they study hard even though it is not exam time. My friends are studying what they want to learn for their future. I think we tend to study hard to get in a university. On the other hand, they focus on studying their major. They think that they get a lot of knowledge from every class. It makes me believe that I have to study harder. I could not speak about these topics fluently when I came to Canada, but now I can talk and know the differences of students in Queen’s University and my university. If I did not meet them, I might not have known that. I feel really happy.

Finally I have only one month left to stay in Canada. Recently I have been spending time with my friends who are English speakers and my host family as much as I can. I started to feel sad when I think about leaving here. Now I can talk with them about a lot of topics which I did not speak very well before. I have already felt speaking English makes me a lot of new. Also I had a stronger relationship with them than before thanks to my English skills. Though I have only one month, I believe I still have a lot of experiences I have never done. I will definitely try harder every day!!!
