海外留学レポートReport from Overseas

I want to try hard every day.

Jan . 2013
Recently the weather is always about minus ten degrees. I have never experienced like this weather before I came to Canada. Also there is too much snow that I have never seen. I am enjoying the cold weather.
About one month has already passed since the winter session which is the last session for me. I met a lot of new students from many countries. Now I am studying in the 130 class. It is one higher class than last session. I basically study grammar, reading and writing in my core class. It is almost the same as last session, but I feel fresh because I have met many new class mates in my new class. Moreover we read newspapers and a novel, and we have to write a summary about this. It is tough for me, but it is really helpful for us to improve our reading skills. In listening class, we focus on how to pronounce specific sounds. It is sometimes boring for me because I had already learned this in Japan. We also listen to some English recording during the class. Last session, not only in class but also in conversation I sometimes could not understand what everyone said. But now I think my listening skill is better than before thanks to these studies and what I did during my vacation. In spoken class, we discuss about some topics with classmates. This time I can know what everyone think about it.
Last session I tried to hang out with foreigner friends who were studying in QSOE with me, but now I am trying to hang out with native speakers. Actually it is very difficult for me to understand what they say because they use some slung and they speak really quickly. However I want to improve my speaking and listening skills, so their accent and pronunciation is helpful for me. A couple of weeks ago my friend who is studying in Queens University invited me to attend a party organized her. When I went there, I saw a lot of activities. We do not have many chances to talk with students of Queens University, so I talked about education, culture and the trend between Japan and Canada. I could know a lot of things about Canada and them. I really had a good time. In addition in Japan, we do not have like this party which is held in our house and about over fifty people gathered. I could see how they enjoy their weekend. Also I have been going to the gym to play volleyball with Queens University students. Recently I sometimes say to them about playing what we do. It is also helpful to improve my English skill.
My stay in Canada is about two months left. I want to try hard every day until I left Canada not to have regrets.
