海外留学レポートReport from Overseas

Christmas and New Year in Cebu

Jan . 2016
I thought this studying abroad was quite long. But now, this is my last month. I feel very sad.
There are many events last month. In Christmas day, I went to restaurant. And then I saw fireworks, and I heard sounds of firecrackers. It was very different from Japanese. Christmas is important event for Filipino, because most Filipino are Christian. That’s why city was so bustling and noisy. But I thought the city wasn’t crowded. Maybe they usually celebrate with their family in the house.
Also New Year’s Day, I went to Crown Regency Hotel to watch fireworks. There were many people in this building. So it was difficult to watch fireworks, but that time we could see it any places. This building had fireworks also. I was scared because the place to launch was too near. So sometimes, something fell toward me. It’s Philippine style.
Most my Japanese friends already went back to Japan. Therefore I spent the time with Taiwanese friends these days. Though, I hesitated even talking with them in the beginning, it’s fun because I can talk willingly now. Taiwanese are always talkative and friendly. I think they have a confidence even if they are not so good at English. When I talked with foreign friends, I always learn something from them.
Actually, I kept my level after taking a progress test. I couldn’t improve my level rather than keep. Every time I take a test, I lost my confidence. But it’s my level. I must study hard more and more. The time I have is not so long.
I want to learn as much as can, and I want to enjoy this time. Thanks for every things.
