I had a great and enjoyable experience on Christmas and New Year in the
Philippines. In Christmas I have been to Mactan island with my friends
for two days. I went to Tops and ate dinner. Tops is the view in the
mountain. The view impressed itself on my memory. Next day I went
shopping in the tax free shop. I bought some clothes. The Philippine
products are cheaper than Japan, so I could be satisfied with shopping
and also Christmas .
In Philippines it common to spend Christmas with their family . They go
to Church and pray from 3am to 5am for 9 days. And they should eat the
food such as noodles , chicken and lechon etc at 12 midnight . I think
it's valuable time because they can communicate and be closer .
In New Year I have been to Olango island with my friends for two days .
At the first day we visited the famous place in Olango island and do
some sightseeing around the island . And we ate the delicious seafood on
the floating restaurant . In the second we had a plan to go to island
hopping , but we couldn't because of heavy rain and thunder . The
weather change suddenly . The agency said if we went to island hopping
we might die !!!lol Our face became pale ... We change the plan to go
back to IT Park and ate the soba . In Japan when we eat the Soba in New
Year , we hope to extend our life . In Filipino also has the same reason
to eat the noodles in New Year .
In this time , I could know the different culture between Philippines
and Japan . I was surprised and respect the Philippine tradition . In
the special day Filipino have a good time with their family and cherish
their family . I think Japanese should respect this tradition .
Times flies , we stayed in Cebu for three month. I had an exciting and
fruitful time here . My resolution is to study harder and speak fluently
during this year !!!! And I hope to have a special experience here . I
have a time to stay here at least for 3 months . I should concentrate to
study and communicate with foreigners . I still enjoy the studying
abroad !!!
