I have to work harder and harder
May . 2013
Four weeks have passed since the spring/summer session, which is the last one for me, has started. That means I'm in the fifth week right now ,and one more week later, we'll have a break week. Actually, I don't think it is a good holidays for me as I don't have enough time to study in Canada, so I don't want to waste even one week. However, we're going to get one week off for sure, so I'd like to spend a fruitful break week.

These days, it has been likely raining a lot in Kingston. Although that makes me depressed, I'm enjoying my classes thanks to my classmates. My core class is focusing on summarizing articles that are not only from text books but also from news. I'm not good at making abstracts so much, so it is really good exercises for me. Also, the core teacher likes a group work, so we often work together. By working with classmates, I can recognize their opinions and sometimes find something new. My lab class emphasizes on listening and its comprehensions. Even though I like listening the best, sometimes it's tough to get every meaning because our class that is 140 class joined up with 150 class, which is the highest class, but I like this class. My spoken class is mostly working on presentations. Since that's the weakest skill in my English ,and I'm still straggling with my poor speaking skill, I'm really enthusiastic about this class. We have presentations once a week except the first week, so we've done three presentations per each person. Every presentation makes me nervous; nevertheless, I think I'm getting used to it gradually. By the end of this session, I'd like to be a persuasive presenter. That is the one of the biggest aims in this studying abroad. In an ECCO class, we usually take a class online so that we can utilize functions of the computer. So far, we've recorded our voices and listened them and searched about online learning English services that are useful for learning English. On Fridays, I go to the elementary school to volunteer. I usually help chidren's homework. Sometimes, I find words that are difficult to pronounce even though they are grade 2 or 3. In addition, I cannot prepare answers since the teacher is not sure about their homework for Friday, so I have to memorize instantly. It's tough sometimes, but I really enjoy it.

On the weekend, I and my friends held Japanese party, went to Kingston fun world ,which has go carts, batting machines, and so on and had Greek food at the restaurant. I was released from stressed-out by having fun with friends sometimes during weekends. I have only about two months in Canada. That means I have to work harder and harder.
