Happy new year!! I would like to share my travel experience. I went to California with my friend for 3 nights and 4 days, and I also visited Texas with my host family for 5 nights and 6 days. First, I’ll share my experience in California. I visited Disneyland in Anaheim on December 24th and California Adventure Park on December 25th. Since it was Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, many people were there. I enjoyed many attractions, such as Incredicoaster, Star Wars, and Cars. It was very exciting. On the final day, I went to Hollywood in Los Angeles. I visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where the names of many famous people are lined up on the sidewalk, and I also went to a cafe, a baseball shop, and a Japanese restaurant. At the cafe, I had a matcha latte and a banana pudding that was said to be famous. It was great to spend Christmas at Disneyland in California. There were a lot of families there, and some of them were wearing matching Christmas costumes, which made me realize how big a celebration Christmas is in America. In Texas, I visited Galveston and Dallas. Galveston has a beautiful ocean, so I watched it every day. I enjoyed the sea by leisurely walking and talking with my host family on the beach, and also by going for runs. I visited Old Town in both Galveston and Dallas and enjoyed shopping with my host family. I’m glad I traveled with my host family because we were able to talk a lot and spend quality time together, which brought us even closer. I also celebrated the New Year during this trip, and I was surprised to learn that New Year’s is not as widely celebrated in America as it is in Japan. In the U.S., there is just a countdown, and there isn’t anything like osechi ryori, the special food we eat on New Year’s Day in Japan. I’m glad I was able to make the most of my winter vacation and enjoy my trip.
