It has been a month since I came to Australia. I would like to write about some of the events of my first month.

As soon as I arrived in Australia, I went to my homestay home and met my host mother and dog. I was very nervous, but they were very welcoming. I cook dinner with my host mother almost every day, and enjoy that time. The dog’s name is Biscuit, and she is very friendly and easy to get along with.

On the first weekend, I went to Opera House. I had only seen it in pictures, so I was impressed when I saw the real one. On other days off, I participated as a volunteer in the sports festival held at japanese language school. Volunteer students mainly carried and prepared the tools used. Parents were very kind, and cared about us. Thanks to that, we had fun doing volunteer work.

I feel that my English skills, especially speaking skills are lacking when I communicating with my host mother and classmates. It takes time to convey what I want to say. There is a lot of disscusion time in class, but I can only speak a little and I find it difficult every time. I will try to more actively so that I can speak more fluently. Also, I have a midterm exam coming up soon, so I’m going to study hard.
