Two months have passed since I came here. In October, there was a midterm test, and volunteer activities at the japanese language school began, so I was busy. The temperture is gradually rising, and the number of days that feel hot is increasing. There were purple flowers called Jacaranda that bloom at this time of the year all over the town, which is very beautiful.

The midterm test was in early Octorber. I reviewed the class on the weekend and prepared for the test. There were a lot of small mistakes in writing, so I thought I have to be more careful. Even after the midterm test, there were report tests and writing tasks, and I practiced a lot to write academic sentences. The teacher checked assignment carefully every time, so I was able to notice mistakes and things I have to be careful about.

Volunteer activities at the japanese language school started two weeks ago. I was in charge of a class with junior high school students. When I joined the first class, I was so surprised that they spoke japanese very well and were also studying kanji. I didn’t know how to help them and I was confused at first. However, I’m gradually being able to interact with them. In class, they are working on choosing one japanese thing and writing an introduction about it. The topics they chose are very interesting. I want to learn a lot of things with them from now on.

On holidays, I went for a walk with my host mother and the dog. The walk was longer and more tiring than I expected, but the weather was nice and it was a good refresh. On the way home, my host mother bought me a cappuccino at a cafe and took a short break on a nearby bench. After returning from a walk, her grandchildren came and we had lunch together in the garden. I’ve never had a holiday like this before, so it was refreshing and fun.
