The End of a Busy Month

Apr . 2018

The weather is Canada is very cold, and one day, it was snowing, heavily and crazy windy. It doesn’t feel like April although we are already at the end of the second week. I want to ask someone where April is, and where spring is. I hope I can feel spring soon. This month was very busy because of too many assignments, presentations and FINAL EXAMS. Anytime I prepare an essay, I don’t have any confidence. It is difficult to think about essay construction and thesis statement; therefore, during this busy time I devoted a lot of time to writing a final essay. However, I’m still not sure that I did a good job. I want to get more opportunities to improve my writing skills, especially the skills I need for writing an essay because it will be helpful for my graduation thesis. I will have to write essays next session, so I’ll focus on that. Fortunately, I have developed a little bit of confidence to stand in front of an audience and speak through my presentation class. In my core class, we learned a lot of grammar including some of which I hadn’t been sure about before. I often make mistakes with prepositions. Sometimes, I don’t know which prepositions came next to which verbs. I want to make sure of that, so I’ll try to study this during the spring vacation. Now I have finished my FINAL EXAMS. Upon finishing the exams, I felt relaxed.

Our University had an opportunity to chat to an astronaut in space, so I watched a live broadcast. The man, Dr. Drew Feustel, who is staying in International Space Station responded to questions. I felt excited to watch this live broadcast because I had never experienced it before. I heard some information about space which I wanted to know and was interested in. It really touched my heart. He gave me courage to do anything I want though it is not easy. I will do my best to accomplish my goals.

There were four birthday girls and boys in March and April, so we held a birthday party in my friend’s house, and together we celebrated our birthdays. I enjoyed chatting, singing and dancing with my friends, and they filled me with joy and happiness. Thank you, my friends! On my birthday, I went to a restaurant to eat dinner with my friends who are my former Chinese housemate and a Taiwanese. I often spend time with them, and they are very nice. Even though the day was snowy, I had a great time with them. Whenever I meet them, I forget time and enjoy talking with them. I will miss them after I leave Canada, but I must visit their hometown to meet them again.

Since I came here, I have received more precious things than I expected. Sometimes I regret coming here; however, people around me always encourage me. I have one more semester, so I will continue to accept any challenges that come my way.
