Hello everyone! 6 months have passed since I studied in New Zealand. In another month, I will be back in Japan. I am so sad because I have to say goodbye to many friends and host family.

 

I am doing well in my course and I have made a turning point. On Friday, in the 6th week of my course, we had a TEP year, which is half of the IELTS test. I haven’t received the score yet, but I want to get my results early. The test score will show me how I have improved my skills.

I found the IELTS difficult test as is the course. Writing and reading are especially difficult because I don’t have time to answer all questions. I guessed the answer of a few of the questions. We will take the full IELTS test in the 12th week, and I want to answer perfectly in that test.

 

This month, our topic is about science&technology, media and addiction. These are quite difficult for me even the listening and vocabulary. But as I wrote before, my class is multinational, so I can learn high technology or skills and faults in each country. Especially, I know better about Brazil and Argentina than I do China or Korea, so I have deepened my knowledge of other countries.

In the technology topic, many classmates knew about how Japanese technology is high, such as AI or robot industry. However, in the addition topic, I thought that Japanese people work too

much so they don’t have time to relax or spend with their family. I think that it is serious problem in my country.

 

From March 1st, in Japan, many students started job hunting. I am worried about my situation because I can’t go to the company information session. Therefore, I will try to do something which I can do in New Zealand. I will do my best. Also, I want to enjoy my remaking days in New Zealand.

 

ニュージーランドに留学して約6ヶ月が経ち帰国までのカウントダウンが迫ってきました。約1ヶ月後には日本に帰国して大学に通っていると思うととても不思議な気分です。この1ヶ月は、嵐が来て停電になったり、お湯が出なくなったり、急にありが大量発生したりと家でのハプニングがたくさんあった1ヶ月でした。

 

しかし、学校でのコースは順調で、折り返し地点を迎えました。6週間目の金曜日には、IELTSテストの半分のサイズのTEPテストを受けました。まだ結果は返却されていないのですが、自分の成長を知ることができたら良いなと思っています。今回、初めて本格的なテストを受けたのですが、改めて内容や時間配分の難しさを感じました。

 

今月のクラスでのトピックは、4週間目がscience & technology、5週間目がMedia、6週間目がaddictionと少し難しい内容で、それに伴って単語やリスニングにとても苦労しました。

しかし、以前のレポートでも書いた通り、私のクラスはとても多国籍なので、国ごとに発展しているモノや技術、抱える問題点を知ることができました。特に、アルゼンチンやブラジルは韓国や中国ほど私には馴染みがなく、知らなかったことばかりで知識も深まりました。technologyの部分では、日本のAIやロボットの技術の高さがクラスで話題になり、改めて日本が技術的に進歩している国だと実感しました。その反面、addictionという部分では日本人は他国に比べて働きすぎだという欠点も垣間見えました。

 

3月に入り日本では、就職活動が本格的に始まり少し焦りを感じていますが、私は私なりのペースで就職活動とこちらでの勉強を両立させたいと思います。
