～English～
About a month has passed since I came to Philippine. I have experienced various things in this month. Especially, the most difficult thing is hospitalization. I intended to take care of physical condition but I was absent from school. I was filled with regrets that I could not do anything while I was in the hospital. I have been in good physical condition after I left the hospital and I have been able to study English hard. Changing my mindset, I think that the experience of hospitalization abroad became good experience for me which makes my mental and physical stronger. However, I will take care of my physical condition and I want to maintain a good physical condition as possible in order to concentrate to learn English.
On the other hand, I enjoyed sightseeing in Cebu city. I went to Sto.Nino Church which is the oldest church in Philippines, Magellan’s Cross and Fort San Pedro which is the oldest fort in Philippines.　As Magellan landed on Cebu in 1521, the presence of Philippines became known to the West. Therefore there are a lot of places which is related with Magellan in Cebu. As a result of this sightseeing, it became a great experience to learn a part of Philippines history,
I also experienced a Halloween party for the first time. Both students, teachers and staffs dressed up and enjoyed. I think that it became a good month for me to learn not only English but also the culture of Philippines.
Progress in learning English is more disappointing than feeling of achievement. I feel this regret is different from the first one. The regret now is frustration which I realize that I cannot convey in English and anxiousness which I must study more. Though the kind of feeling is an indication of the progress that it is because the degree of comprehension to English has been improved, it is still vexatious. Lessons at Visaya University will start from next week. I would like to continue to make efforts to achieve the result of this one month at practical place of university.

　フィリピンに来て約一か月が経ちました。そして、私はこの一か月でさまざまなことを経験しました。特につらかったのは入院です。体調管理には気を付けていたつもりでしたが、学校を休む羽目になってしまいました。入院している間は何もできない悔しさでいっぱいでした。退院してからは、体調も良く、英語の勉強に励むことができています。考え方を変えると、海外での入院の経験も私を精神的にも身体的にも強くする、いい経験になったかと思います。しかしながら、勉強に集中するためにも、今後も体調には気を付け、良好な健康状態を保ちたいと思います。
　一方、楽しんだこととしてはセブ市内の観光をしたことです。今回は、フィリピン最古の教会であるサント・ニーニョ教会、マゼラン・クロス、そしてフィリピン最古の要塞であるサンペドロ要塞を見学しました。1521年にマゼランがセブに上陸したことにより、フィリピンの存在が西洋に知られるようになりました。よって、セブにはマゼランと関わりのある場所が多く残されています。観光をしたことで、フィリピンの歴史を学ぶ素晴らしい経験にもなりました。
　また、初めてハロウィンパーティーを経験しました。学生も先生もスタッフも仮装をして楽しんでいました。この一か月間は英語の勉強だけでなくフィリピンの文化を学ぶ良い一か月になったと思います。
　英語の勉強の進捗はというと、こちらは達成感というより悔しい気持ちの方が勝っています。この悔しさは最初のころに感じていた悔しさとは異なるように感じます。今の悔しさは、自分が英語でうまく伝えられていないことがわかるいらだちと、もっと勉強しなくてはいけないという焦りです。こういう気持ちは英語に対する理解度が上がってきたからだという進歩の表れでもありますが、やはり悔しいです。来週からはヴィサヤ大学での授業も始まります。大学という実践の場で、この一か月間の成果を出せるよう、引き続き努力していきたいと思います。

※写真はマンツーマン授業の先生との写真と、サントニーニョ教会です。この写真はハロウィンパーティーの時に撮ったもので、先生は顔を黒く塗ってます...とてもフレンドリーな先生たちのおかげで楽しく過ごせています。サントニーニョ教会はとても綺麗な教会でした。
