海外留学レポートReport from Overseas

The winter session was started

Feb . 2016
In this report, I’ll write about my class and some points that I was impressed in Canada.
There are 6 students, 4 nationalities in my class. It is very small class compared my class in last session and has good opportunity to speak English. In the core class, we discuss many topics instead of studying grammar, for example, environmental problems, human rights, social issues and so on. A goal of this program is getting English skill to enter university, so we can learn more academic skills. I’m just preparing my presentation about PTSD. I started ECCO class since in this session. We have to submit homework on online every week. We had to listen to interview for 45 minutes in last week. It’s hard but good practice!
As I described, I think it’s not easy program, but my friends who are from other country make me motivated. When I talked them, I was so impressed that they have a definite dream in the future, and most of them will apply to Queens University to get master’s degree. Not only this program but also my friends have a good influence on me! You will be able to motivate yourself to study English.
I was also impressed by Canadian. They support for people who need helps. Especially, people in Kingston support refugee families for a long time. Teachers who had already retired teaches English and other people help their life in Kingston. In every Monday, I go to my host mother’s church to do volunteer activity. I support challenged people. Unfortunately, I worried whether I can help enough for them or not. However, their behavior such as remembering my name and speaking to me with a smile gave me confidences. I found that we can communicate enough even if we have other language. It’s very valuable experience. That’s why I can recommend you to choose Canada, especially Kingston, for studying abroad with confidence!
I decided to take a TOEIC test in Toronto on February. This is the first since I came here. I’m little nervous. Actually, I had a fever at the end of January because of a changeable weather. I am fine now, but I’ll do my best with taking good care of myself.
