Hi, how are you? I could take part in a lot of activities that are really awesome in this month.

Now I'll tell you about two activities that I enjoyed especially.

First, on November 24th, I went to Muriwai with host family to see gannets. I enjoyed watching gannets although this weather was terrible windy and cloudy. After that we went to supermarket to buy something to eat for my birthday party. I was so glad to be celebrated my birthday by host family. This day I ate much ice cream till I felt full.

Second, on November 29th, I went to Karekare and Piha for school activity and then I fully enjoyed watching the nature in New Zealand. They are surrounded by rocks, grasses, many beautiful flowers, and sea and I'm surprised at the fact that there is such a place in Auckland. In evening, I watched sunset at the beach. The sky turned purple and pink and sunset was shiny so the scenery was so romantic. When it’s getting dark, I watched a night view and a starry sky. I can see loads of stars there much clearly than in Japan so it's inspiring me. It was nice the weather was nice so I felt lucky. The first picture is the starry sky in Piha. I hope you can see stars in this picture.

By the way, I took a test last week. Well, I couldn’t go up my level sadly in spite of the fact I made my best for the test. But there is no use in regretting my result so I accept my result and I make an effort to improve my English skills again. And my teacher commented that my skills have improved because he knows I work hard and have fun in his class. On seeing his comment, I noticed my skills have been better slightly and I don’t stick with the result of my test.

I'm really happy to see good teacher at AIS.

 

みなさん、こんにちは。今月は友達やホストファミリーと出かけたり、学校のアクティビティにたくさん参加してすごく充実した一ヶ月になりました。今回はその中で特に印象に残った2つのアクティビティを紹介したいと思います。

まず一つは、11月24日、ホストファミリーと一緒にカツオドリを見にMuriwaiへ行きました。天気はあまりよくありませんでしたが、そこにはたくさんのカツオドリとその雛がいてとてもかわいかったです。その後、私の誕生日会の為のケーキやアイスクリーム、食材を買いにスーパーに行きました。20歳の誕生日は個人的に特別な誕生日だと思っていたので、そんな特別な日をホストファミリーがお祝いしてくれてすごくうれしかったです。そして、アイスクリームが大好きな私はお腹いっぱいになるまでアイスクリームを思う存分食べました。

もう一つは、11月29日、学校のアクティビティに参加してKarekareとPihaという場所へ行き、そこでニュージーランドの自然鑑賞を楽しみました。そこはオークランドの中心部とは全く違い、岩、花、草原、海といった自然に囲まれていて、オークランドにそんな場所があったんだと驚きました。夕方になると、私達はビーチに行き、夕日の鑑賞しました。空はピンクと紫に染まり、夕日は輝いていて、とてもロマンチックな景色でした。辺りが暗くなると、次はオークランドの夜景と星空を鑑賞しました。ニュージーランドの星空は日本よりはるかにはっきりとたくさんの星が見えたので、すごくキレイで感動しました。本当に天気が晴れた日にアクティビティに参加することかできてラッキーでした。ちなみに二枚目の写真はその時に撮った星空の様子ですが、星見えますかね？真ん中にオリオン座が見えると思います。

話は変わりますが、先週テストが行われました。今回こそレベルアップしようと最大限の努力をしましたが、残念ながら今回もレベルアップすることはできませんでした。しかし、テストの結果を悔やんでも意味が無いので、自分の現状を受け入れて、また改めて英語スキルを改善する為の努力を始めたいと思います。そして、何より嬉しかったのは担任の先生方がテスト結果について「あなたのスキルは上達しているよ、なぜならあなたが授業を真面目に取り組んでいるし、楽しんでいるのを知っているから」とコメントしてくださったことです。このコメントを見た途端、自分の英語スキルが少しずつ上達していることに気づき、テストの結果に固執しないようになりました。

AISで素敵な先生方に出会えて本当に幸せだと思いました。
