海外留学レポートReport from Overseas

SUNSHINE

Jul . 2019

Hi, everyone.

I want to write about my trip to BC last month. If I had to describe about my trip with only one word, I would say it was beautiful. At first, I was not going to go Vancouver, but after I knew that it takes only one and half hour from Victoria to Vancouver, I decided to visit. I went to there by big ferry, and I had a very nice breakfast on the ferry. The ferry moved slowly, so it was really good to relax and sleep. Vancouver was quite similar with Toronto. It was big city, and I saw many Japanese restaurants and people. We met a friend who is studying in Vancouver, and she guided us. We went to beautiful big park and saw totem pole. For dinner, we had Japanese food TONKATSU and it was really yummy. For rest of days, I explored Victoria and I liked Victoria more than Vancouver. Victoria was really flat, and not crowded like in Kingston. For people who like nature like me, staying in Victoria was like heaven. I stayed there whole a week, and every day I had a good time. I can’t write all about my trip, so I just want to introduce my favorite place which is the Butchart Gardens. It was the most beautiful place in Victoria. It can be best place ever! Basically, it was a huge garden, but what is so special is the theme for each area. There were some areas such as rose garden, Italian garden, Japanese garden, and so on. They leaded me like I was in Italy or Japan. They showed the theme exactly. The rose garden was gorgeous. You can see the picture end of this report, and I’m sure you’ll like it. Besides the garden, I went to a lot of places in Victoria. It was successful trip, and I want to go back there again!

It was the Canada Day on July 1st. Celebrating the national day was really different compared to Japan. There were many people who was wearing white and red T-shirt with “CANADA” logo. They dressed up and they looked they were really enjoying celebrating the day. I like the culture because national day is just a holiday for most Japanese people. I do nothing for Japanese day. Therefore, I hope we can also celebrate the National Day as a special day. It was so grateful to celebrate the Canada Day in here.

I’m still busy with lots of homework, but I’m enjoying my rest of life in Kingston. Thank you for reading this monthly report.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!
