海外留学レポートReport from Overseas

Warner Pacific University

May . 2019

Hello everyone! How is it going? I hope you are having good spring day. Last month Portland was terribly cold even if it was spring season. However, these days, Portland is pretty hot, and temperature gap between morning and evening is really huge. That’s why I always wonder whether to wear jacket or not. Also, it is interesting for me that sunset is later than in Japan. I think 9:00pm is already dark in Japan, but in here, 9:00pm is still light. Because sunset is amazingly late, I can not recognize what time it is now. But, I can get new experience about climate, and that is valuable for me. So, in this report, I would like to introduce my school life and daily life!! Let’s get start it!!

First, I want to share my amazing experience in Warner Pacific. In April 13rd, I was invited to 10th PRESIDENT’S SCHOLARSHIP LUNCHEON, a formal party for scholarship in WP. That was the first formal party for me, so I was mix feeling; I was nervous and excited. I had really good time in there because I ate extremely luxury meals, and I talked with many WP teachers. Also, they had auction to earn money for scholarship, and it was my first experience of auction!!! I knew auction was competition and people used number card. Actually, knowledge was correct, but there was one thing I was so surprise. Auction’s host was talking fast, and I could not catch what he was saying. But, it was really interesting. So, I hope I can join other formal party and auction.

Also, I joined Warner Pacific class one time. That was optional class, and I chose psychology class. Before I took the class, I thought I could understand what teacher said. But, actually, I could not understand about the topic: I just understood 50 to 60%. I was so sad, and I realized taking college class is really hard. However, it was good experience for me because I knew what I have to learn from then and what it is lack for me. So, I really recommend if you come to PIA, you have to take one WP class. Even if it is only one time, it’s gonna be valuable experience for you.

As you know, April 21’st was Easter Day, so I went to Egg Hunt, an event to catch many eggs which have some snuck in inside, with my host family. Because I am adult, I could not join the event, and I just watched my host kids, but it was so fun. In Japan, we really don’t care about Easter, so Egg Hunt was really exciting for me.

Last week I just finished my mid term test, and before I write next report, my final exam will be finished, so it means my last term will be finished. So, in next report, I will write about all of my idea about PIA classes.

Thank you for reading! See you on next repert!!!!
