海外留学レポートReport from Overseas

Practice, practice, practice!

Nov . 2018

Hi there! This is the second monthly report, and it has been over one month since I came to Portland. I can’t believe it’s already! I’ve learned and experienced so much on this month.

I’ll introduce about school activities. I went to Seattle on October 20th to 21th. There were many sightseeing spots like a world’s first Starbucks and Space Needle. We stayed at hostel but it wasn’t comfortable, and I felt dangerous. I heard sirens of police cars around the Seattle.

We had a mid-term exam in October 31th, so I couldn’t enjoy Halloween. However, I got high score on exams. I made some careless mistakes on my answers. I have to keep going on to the final exam. PIA is famous for has a lot of homework. But now, I’m getting the hang of homework, and how to study. I can enjoy after schools and weekends.

My home stay’s environment is perfect for practice English well. Recently, I can keep the conversation going with my host family. We usually talk about current news, cultural differences, and senses of humor. They say that my English is better than before. It’s hard for me to know how much my English has improved, but I’m glad to hear that.

My host mother always says that English is practice, practice, practice. I have to keep practice every day, every time, and everywhere. I tend to compare my English and my grade to others, so I felt down sometimes. At that time, host mother taught to me, “You need not compare yourself to others. What matters is what you think about yourself.” Her words helped me. I’m just thankful in being able to spend a simple day like today. I want to enjoy the rest of my time as much as possible!
