Strive for the highest
May . 2016
It has been nine month since I’ve arrived in Hawaii and I find that my time here is coming to a close. Although, I am sad to leaving, this beautiful island of sand and sun I will forever cherish the worm and sweet memories of my time here.

If there are people who are interested in studying abroad, I really recommend them to go KCC. KCC is quite different from a language school. I can confidentially say that if I went to another partnership school, I wouldn’t have been able to attain the speaking and writing skills that I now have.

KCC is not language school and English is used as one of the tools to learn new exciting things. Because of this, I was able to stay motivated even though I sometimes needed to study concepts like vocabulary and grammar. There are great English experts at KCC; the positive and cheerful environment here in Hawaii helped me a lot. I never felt that English was something that I needed to acquired, but I noticed English is an important thing for me to improve so that I can further improve myself.

I really think my personality has changed in a positive manner; I used to be afraid to talk to others but now I like talking to talk people I have never met before, which in turn helps me to learn and interact with people in general.

Hawaii’s environment is generally positive; local people are kind to everyone regardless where you are from which makes for a unique atmosphere; most places in the world are not as relaxed and friendly as in Hawaii.

Therefore, I was able to improve on a lot of the personal goals that I wanted to accomplish. When I left Japan nine month ago, I promised myself to improve English skill, but also I firstly wanted to change my negative qualities; I wanted to become less negative and childish, and become more cheerful and mature of a person. Now that I have found progress in these areas, I can strive to change even more so.

In three days, I am going to have graduation party for exchange students with my friends and I want to talk about our feature. I want to say “Thank you” for everyone I’ve ever met in Hawaii and the people who brought me here. I’m incredibly grateful to the teachers that have helped me succeed in my schoolwork, my friends that have helped me stay positive and happy, and my number one friend who has supported me through all the rough times I’ve had over the past year.

“As time passes, the day will come when everything will fade to memories. But those miraculous
days, when you and I, along with everyone else, searched together for just that one thing, will
continue revolving forever somewhere deep in my heart, as my bittersweet memory.”
